Training The Singing Voice
I am a Singing Specialist, which means I have a very high level of understanding and expertise of the singing voice. I train the singer with various techniques and I have specialist knowledge of all voice types, particularly The Soprano Voice where 9 types maybe found within the light to dark calibre, each with special requirements. I can personally tailor techniques guided towards each individual style, type and problem to achieve the best development and nurture for a long and lasting healthy voice. All lessons are either taught in person privately at my dedicated singing room or live online via FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp etc or by phone.
Children, The Ageing Voice and Voice Balance
A Child’s Voice is a delicate and vulnerable instrument and in order to protect their young voice I select Music such as Disney to carefully develop and nurture the voice. I may also use the approach of a lighter song choice for assisting with rebalancing and for adults with an ageing voice. In all cases Special Techniques are employed to address any concern.
Background
My voice class is Coloratura Acuto Sfogato Soprano and I personally trained under the guidance of a continental singing master in the Italian, German and French singing technique traditions including “The Leaning Of The Voice” sensation, now passed down and taught on by myself. – (copyright Margaret Head & Angela Kelly) .
The techniques I use belong to the true origins of voice and song, have stood the test of time and are taught only by true masters of singing, passed down through generations and can be traced back to their Heritage, Authenticity, Scientifically and to all the great singers trained in them.
Degree/Post Graduate Areas Specialised
Vast research and writing on a Dissertation based upon the “Differing vocal technique within the German, Italian and English schools and the Soprano Voice, including the Coloratura, Dramatic and the Lyric”.
The psychology of the voice; where the origins and psychology of the voice and performance was studied, leading to an extensive study of the singing voice, titled “EMOTION THROUGH THE SINGING VOICE”.
A dissertation written on Vocal methods such as, Delayed Vibrato and Unmixed Falsetto.
Advanced Classical Solo Singing Performance and Soprano Duetto Singing Performance.
An original written work titled “THE SINGING VOICE,” including the Appoggio and Cuperto.
Voice Problems
I have a special interest in voice disorders and vocal problems and I also take referrals for Voice Rehabilitation from ENT surgeons for: Thyroid Surgery, Tremolo, Hernia, Inflammation and Bowing of the Vocal Fold, Strain of the Larynx and Throat muscles.
I can also help with alignment of the Speaking Voice and misuse of the Belt Register, Laryngitis, Hoarseness, Breathy Tone, Loss of Range and Strength and The Dysfunctional Flat Tongue Method.
Qualifications
Single Honours Degree in Music and Voice B.Mus/Voice (Hons)
I cover all Specialist and Continental Techniques and have vast experience in Voice Disorders.
Genres / Styles
I cover all Classical Styles including Baroque, Opera and Lieder Song.
I also work with Contemporary Music including Music Theatre and Pop.
Final Note
The techniques I use focus on accurate voice Psychology and Physiology and corresponding anatomy that correlates with the laws of science and correct use of the muscles of speech and song. This knowledge enables myself ability and insight to identify and seek solutions that assist a healthy and developed singing voice.
